New Google Play Features

Achievements for Grim Soul have appeared in Google Play. By completing various tasks in the game, Android players will be able to unlock them and see them in their profile.

Two unique rewards will also become available — a white direwolf and a black kitten. The conditions for obtaining them and their availability are determined by Google Play.

Level 2 Fire

The regular Fire can now be upgraded to level 2.

The corresponding design will appear among event rewards. After learning it, a material collection will unlock, which you will need to complete to upgrade the Fire to the next level.

The main advantage is increased capacity: you will be able to load twice as many items into the Fire at once.

Upgrading to level 2 will require a new resource: Rock Salt. It can be found in the Cursed Observatory, as well as in the Merchant Escort, Broken Cart, and Virbjorn's Lair events.

If several Fires are built in your castle, you only need to learn the design once. However, each Fire will still need to be upgraded separately.

For now, this feature is available only for the regular Fire. The Campfire with a pot remains unchanged.

Heroic Wagenburg Rebalance

In Update 8.5.0, we've made significant changes to Heroic Wagenburg.

The main goals are to make modifiers more relevant during a run, even out the difficulty of their different combinations, and adjust the effectiveness of runes.

Heroic Wagenburg will still be more difficult than Normal Mode, but now different modifier combinations should have a more noticeable impact on your tactics, without causing overly abrupt difficulty spikes between them.

Enemy Changes

The Combat Alchemist now restores health more gradually, and his grenades hit less precisely.

Lieutenant Salty has gained resistance to elemental damage.

Enemies emerging from tents can now also call nearby allies for help.

Rune Changes

We've revised several Wagenburg runes at once.

The Fire Rune's instant and periodic damage have been reduced.

The Ice Rune, on the other hand, has become more dangerous: it deals more damage, and the freezing lasts longer.

When triggered, the Terror Rune additionally deals a small amount of damage, and the effect itself lasts longer.

The Signal Rune also deals a small amount of damage on activation and summons an additional enemy.

Modifier Changes

We've adjusted both positive and negative modifiers in Heroic Wagenburg.

Blazing Fire, Piercing Cold, and Touch of Decay now provide a more substantial bonus to their corresponding element. The effects of Mighty Blows, Sharp Spikes, and Effective Healing have also become stronger.

Healing Air now triggers more often and restores more health.

Some negative modifiers have also become more dangerous. Swift Opponents now increases not only enemy movement speed, but their attack speed as well; Watchful Guards has a wider field of view; and Heavy Blows has become stronger.

We've also made adjustments to effects related to armor, healing, evasion, and enemies' chance to return to the fight after death.

At the same time, some particularly difficult combinations can no longer appear together. For example, reduced Exile armor won't be combined with increased enemy damage.

More Information on the Minimap

In some locations, a part of the loot can be found on the bodies of the fallen. On the minimap, such places are marked with a yellow skull.

Previously, this icon didn't change after you interacted with the find. Now, like regular chest markers, it will show its status: not inspected, opened, or completely emptied.

This will make it easier to understand where loot still might be and where it's no longer worth returning to.

Other Changes

• The Terror Rune has become significantly more useful. Its number of charges has been increased from 5 to 10, and each trigger now additionally deals 30 damage to the enemy.
• Priestesses from the Monastery of the Dusk Flame now also count toward the Scarlet Hunt task that requires killing priestesses.
• The Elemental Forge design and Fire Essences can also be obtained as loot from Harid.

Update 8.5.0 focuses on systems Exiles interact with regularly: from small QoL changes to a noticeable rebalance of Heroic Wagenburg.
