Wagenburg Update

Heroic Mode

New trials await the bravest Exiles. You’ll have only one chance to complete each run. Once you pass through the gates, they’ll slam shut behind you. If you die inside, the run resets and you'll have to start from the beginning.

This mode features special modifiers that change the rules of the location and affect both player and enemy stats. Every run through Wagenburg offers a unique challenge and demands your full attention.

Each run includes three modifiers:

  • Advantage: Grants a beneficial bonus, such as increasing your stats or making enemies vulnerable to a specific damage type.
  • Restriction: Weakens the player or prevents them from using certain abilities. For example, it may reduce healing effectiveness or prevent you from using scrolls.
  • Enemy Enhancement: Increases enemy stats or makes the location itself more difficult. Examples include increased enemy movement speed and physical damage, or additional runic traps.
Traps in the location have changed as well.
In Heroic Mode, runes will appear instead of traps. These are ground traps that activate when stepped on. Until now, runes have never posed a threat to players. Can you handle what you once used against your enemies?

Exiles may encounter four types of runes:
  • Fire Rune: Deals instant fire damage and sets the target ablaze.
  • Ice Rune: Freezes the target and deals frost damage.
  • Terror Rune: Applies a control effect that forces the target to flee in fear.
  • Signal Rune: Attracts the attention of all enemies within a certain radius.
We recommend drinking a Cat Eye Potion so you don't overlook any nasty surprises underfoot.

New Enemies

The enemy ranks are growing. Wagenburg has never been more dangerous. These enemies can be encountered on both difficulty levels.

Combat Alchemist: A ranged enemy that throws three types of area-of-effect grenades: poison, fear, and frost.

A new version of the Wagenburg Lieutenant has also arrived. Clad in Storm Herald armor and wielding Thunder God's Knuckledusters, this formidable foe has a chance to strike you with lightning and stun you whenever he deals or takes damage.

And Heroic difficulty also features the return of an old acquaintance. Be careful. Very careful. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Normal Mode

With Heroic Mode now available, the difficulty of Normal Mode has been slightly reduced.
In Normal Mode, the gates no longer close behind players after passing through them. Additionally, Exiles can also switch their accompanying direwolf while inside Wagenburg.

Wagon Level 3

All Exiles can now upgrade their wagon to Level 3. Look for the design and missing components in Wagenburg Heroic Mode. You can also find all parts and recipes for the previous levels there.
Please note that Normal Mode now only allows you to assemble the Level 1 wagon, while Heroic Mode allows you to assemble Level 1, 2, and 3 wagons.
Heroic difficulty is also the place to find rare boat-building parts.

New Location: Copper Mine
The search for copper has become easier! Get your largest pannier to haul away as much ore as possible.

The Copper Mine is a new location designed for newer and mid-level players. It's an excellent source of Copper Ore and shares many similarities with the Silver Mine.

The location consists of two parts:

Surface area: The descent into the mine.
Mine: A generated location made up of mine tunnels and halls. This is where the copper deposits can be found.

Stay alert! The mine is home to Rats, Leprous Diggers, and Leprous Overseers.

Unlike the Silver Mine, Exiles can leave the Copper Mine at any time by the same route they used to enter. And if you fail in your battle against the local inhabitants, you will still have some time to return for your belongings.

New Items
Double-Shot Crossbow is a new elite weapon for those who battle the most powerful creatures of Lubenia.

Unlike the Raven Crossbow, it doesn't deal increased damage while attacking from stealth mode, but it lets you fire two shots before reloading. Here's a small tip: if you have the double-shot skill, you can fire up to four bolts before reloading.

Skills that fire an additional projectile when attacking, such as the Imperial Jaeger Set bonus or the Master Archer's Pannier bonus, do not consume the crossbow's second charge.

Sapper Kit is a consumable item that lets you disarm a trap without triggering it. If you have a Sapper Kit in your inventory, you'll be able to interact with a trap using the corresponding button when you approach it.
After use, the trap will disappear from the location, and the Sapper Kit will be consumed.

Falves Shield is a new shield that uses a mechanic similar to the Falves Set. The lower your health, the more damage it blocks while raised.
It lets you stay at low health for a while, significantly reducing the risk of dying. The shield design will become available in one of the upcoming Scarlet Hunts.

Terror Rune is a new runic trap that you can place on the ground for your enemies. Any enemy that steps on the rune will flee in fear for a short time.
An important difference between this rune and others is that it has multiple charges. A single rune can be triggered up to five times.

Scroll of Pestilence is a new scroll available in four rarity tiers, each with its own level of effectiveness. When used, it temporarily reduces the healing received by all enemies around you.

Carrot is a new consumable item. Feed it to your horse or eat it yourself. The choice is yours.
When fed to your horse, a carrot restores a large amount of energy and grants experience. When consumed by the player, it restores a small amount of energy, health, satiety, and thirst.

New Skills

In this update, players will be able to learn new skills for the fiercest battles.

Thrifty Hunter: Gives you a chance to recover a trap disarmed with a Sapper Kit and place it back into your inventory.

Hunter's Vision: Increases the player's field of view when using ranged weapons.

Nimble Crossbowman: Gives you a chance to instantly reload your crossbow after killing an enemy.

Legendary Crimson Direwolf
A new legendary companion with a special fur color is available to all Exiles. Don't miss this limited-time offer!

Other Changes

Hermit and Scout Behavior

After using a Scroll of Control, the Forsaken Hermit and Torturer Scout now leave the location on their own and occupy any available torture devices. It's what they've always wanted. Really!
If a torture device is already occupied, you'll need to personally escort the current prisoner out of the location before placing a new enemy in their stead.

Filling Collections

When filling collections, you no longer have to drag items from your inventory manually. Simply double-tap an item or use the Place button to add it to the corresponding slot.

Crossbow Usability

If a player moved a loaded crossbow into their inventory or a quick slot, the weapon would previously automatically unload. Now, the crossbow preserves the number of charges it had the moment it was moved into the inventory or quick slot.

Storm in the Sinister Citadel

After defeating Rogvold's Shadow in the Sinister Citadel, the storm will now subside, and lightning will no longer strike a player while they're opening the chest.

Freeze Immunity for Ghosts

Ghosts and spirits are no longer affected by freezing effects.

Visual Difference for Allied Traps

Traps placed by a player now visually differ from enemy traps.
