Read more about the update in our article:

Winter in Lubenia
A harsh blanket of snow covers the Plaguelands. And that means traditional Christmas and New Year events await you along with new challenges!

Christmas Changes

Christmas is the perfect time to honor traditions. And Lubenia has plenty of them!
  • The Christmas tree recipe for your castle is returning to your crafting menu.
  • Instead of a Barrel of Honey, Plum Puddings will be delivered to you daily.
  • Each day Exiles will receive 20 Christmas wreaths to exchange with Commander Claus, plus an additional 100 for the first login after the update.
  • A Large Present and 500 wreaths will appear in Exiles' storage overnight between December 24th and 25th.
  • Christmas rewards, including Christmas wreaths, are returning to card game.
  • You now have a chance to win an epic winter-colored direwolf.
  • The Christmas secret room is returning to the Dungeon of the Forsaken.
  • A winter direwolf can also be obtained in the store, in locations, and from merchants.

Plague Elves

Gift chests appear in forest and stone locations.
Exiles should approach them with caution: when you try to open a gift, a Plague Elf will leap out. It will not attack, but will flee immediately. If you want to claim its treasures, you must catch and defeat it before it disappears into the fog.
If you fail to catch the elf, you will still be able to take whatever remains in the chest.
An Exile can open two such chests per day.

Plague Elf Village

If an Exile has reached level 30, they can visit the Plague Elf Village and search for valuables there. Stock up on bombs; the houses are securely locked.
Naturally, the owners will notice your attempt to rob them and will try to escape. Don't let them!

Christmas Festival

A new event has appeared in your calendar, the Christmas Festival. Keep track of activities this winter!
Commander Claus's Camp

There are few safe places in Lubenia. Commander Claus's Camp is one of them.
Commander Claus has already prepared gifts, but he will give them only to those who prove their valor. Exchange Christmas wreaths for keys to festive chests and claim your rewards!

The Christmas tree stands here for a reason. Decorate it with ornaments to gain special boosters that will help you during holiday events.

The Commander's helpers are also willing to trade. If you have extra wreaths and ornaments, take a look at their offers.

You may notice one of Plague Santa's elves on the Tickling Chair. A little tickling will make him reveal the location of a festive event. To prevent you from overdoing it, you can tickle the elf only once every 20 hours.
A deer?! We don't really know why it's here.

Holiday Events

Exiles can take part in four different events during the festival:

  • Deer Pasture
Feel like a true deer herder!
Try to drive as many deer into the pen as possible; your reward depends on the number you manage to gather. Don't let them step into traps; that is fatal. And if a varg targets the herd, show it who rules Lubenia.

  • Christmas Cart
One cart, four deer.
Survive the waves of the Ice Walkers without losing a single animal, and you'll claim everything in the cart.

  • Frozen Treasures
If there's a bell, you should ring it, right? As soon as an Exile touches the bell, a chest will appear in the location. Stay within the area around the chest until the timer ends, and the chest will open.
You can open up to seven chests in this event.

  • Commander Claus vs. Plague Santa
Plague Santa is trapped inside an ice block in the center of the location. Speak with Commander Claus to begin the fight.

Overcome waves of enemies with the Commander. In the final battle, you'll face Plague Santa himself. The rewards for defeating him are the most valuable.

You can choose to stop after any wave of enemies. But if Commander Claus loses all his health and freezes, no further waves will follow.

Some Exiles have already taken part in this challenging event, but this year, it's going to be even tougher. Still, don't forget the Christmas tree; its magic has grown stronger.
For example, Commander Claus can now warm up with Spiced Wine. This is very helpful, as new enemies can inflict a freezing effect.

If you use the Petrification active skill, the Commander will also be petrified. Keep this in mind when planning your strategy.

Good luck!

New Enemies

During the Christmas Festival, Exiles will encounter many unique opponents. They are covered in frost and ready not only to attack but to freeze Exiles to death.
  • Harbinger of Cold – deals a burst of cold damage and slows.
  • Cold Warrior – deals a burst of cold damage and applies frostbite.
  • Cold Zealot – deals a burst of cold damage and applies a freezing effect.
  • Cold Rat – applies frostbite.
  • Cold Knight – applies frostbite and slows with cold.
  • Cold Bearer – explodes shortly after death, dealing cold damage and freezing any Exile caught in the blast radius. After death, it leaves behind a snow cloud that deals periodic cold damage to the player and Claus. Attacks against it apply frostbite to the attacker.

Scarlet Hunt

The Scarlet Hunt, as tradition warrants, is back in action.
From level 41 onward, the number of points needed to reach new Scarlet Hunt tiers has been reduced.
Points for long (weekly) quests have been increased from 5,000 to 7,500.

Talismans

Changes to existing talismans
  • Talismans of varying rarities used for gathering wood and ore will now not only differ in their durability but also in the specific types of resources they can affect.
Small Lumberjack's Talisman – works on collecting pine.
Lumberjack's Talisman – works on collecting pine and birch.
Small Miner's Talisman – works on collecting stone and copper.
Miner's Talisman – works on collecting stone, copper, and iron.

  • The durability of rare bonus damage talismans (both elemental and physical) has been increased to 75.
Note: If these talismans are already in your chests, their durability might look lower than before. This is just due to an increase in maximum durability. The actual durability of your talismans hasn't changed.
  • The absorption value for unique defense talismans (physical and elemental) has been increased to 20.
  • New rarity tiers have been added to existing talismans.

New Items

Pack Leader's Set
A new set for those who can't imagine surviving without their loyal direwolves.
  • Each individual armor piece increases the direwolf's damage by 1 (+5 when the full set is equipped).
  • Full set bonus for all 5 pieces: 30% chance to restore 2 satiety to the direwolf accompanying you when you take a hit.
  • Take part in the Scarlet Hunt to obtain set designs.
Biting Cold Pannier
